A Mark Twain House Production

The Mark Twain House, a massive 18-bedroom oceanfront home located on Ocean Beach in Corolla North Carolina, magically combines opulence and grandeur with the richness and authenticity of the Outer Banks. The Mark Twain House offers guests warmth and comfortability by design. It has tons of natural materials, marble, stone and slate, as well as generously tiled bathrooms, granite kitchens, pine flooring, a Viking kitchen with lots of dining space, three levels of wrap around decks and a large swimming pool. Located just before mile marker 15 on the 4×4 beach, the Mark Twain House has a mesmerizing backdrop for family and friends, and was the picture perfect location for Maria and Chris Rupp’s rocking beach wedding this past Saturday.

When it came to pampering their family and friends, Maria and Chris brought in a full compliment of wait and cook staff from Dawn’s Kitchen Catering in Point Harbor to kept guests happy and drinking by the pool side bar. Dawn’s kitchen brought out course after course of perfectly prepared horderves like shrimp cocktails, fruit and cheese platters, caprese skewers, chicken skewers and fresh local seafood with which they prepared mini fish tacos from. They brought plenty of sun brewed ice teas as well as tender chicken breast filled with spinach and fontina cheese that they served with a wild rice and asparagus in a lemon butter sauce for dinner.

By the time sunset rolled around, guests were full of food, full of love, punch drunk and ready to dance. And that’s when the high flying, stomp your feet, more your body to the beats of Greenville’s Jupiter Jones Band, voted 2011 Best Band by Mixer Magazine. These guys turn up the volume, drawing everyone in attendance to the dance floor for hours of great entertainment.

The Man who Made us Cry

Something special, tender and sweet happened on the back patio of the Mark Twain House that evening and it caught me by surprise – in fact, I think it caught us all by surprise. During Maria and Chris’s first dance, if you were looking up towards the patio area, you would’ve noticed George (Maria’s dad) crying his eyes out and being coddled by Nikki. Well, I was so taken back that I’ll admit – you got me going – and a lot of other people as well. The love you have for Maria is obvious and extra special. God bless you both.

Getting to know you and learn how you met makes me believe in fairytales all over again – you say it was only furniture, but I think it was something else. I had an absolutely fantastic time meeting you and your family, and I left with a bunch of great memories and hopefully some news friends as well.
