Wedding at Elizabethan Gardens with Amanda and Dwight

Springtime Wedding at Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo NC

Elizabethan Gardens Manteo North Carolina

Surrounded by the vibrant colors of blossoming stately gardens in spring, grown on the richest historical grounds in all of Roanoke Island, Amanda and Dwight Atkinson made a public statement about their love, attraction and commitment for one another this past Saturday at their wedding at Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo, NC.

Surrounded by family and friends that had gathered beneath the largest, oldest and wisest of trees, and just as the coolest of breezes tugged at the arm of Pastor Steve Siegrist to get on a quick pace, everyone enjoyed a heartfelt kiss before hearing the announcement of Amanda and Dwight to be, thus beginning the first day of the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.

“Down the centuries English women have built gardens to the glory of God, the beauty of the countryside and the comfort of their souls,” written on the entrance of the Elizabethan Garden gates in memory of Inglis Fletcher.

The wedding at Elizabethan Gardens of Amanda and Dwight signified the beginning of a new chapter for the Barnhorst’s and Atkinson families, because today they both got a little bigger. With the passing of time and the exchanging of memories, the beautiful bride Amanda, dressed in a Sophia Tolli wedding gown, danced her way into our hearts in just as much a way as Dwight has, except he in a more manly fashion – with guns, cop cars and fists a blazon (inside joke, you’d have to be there to know what actually happened to Dwight on his way to the alter). Kidding aside, their day was absolutely gorgeous and the good Lord held off what little rain we did get until long after the ceremony and outdoor portraits were finished. The wedding was over run with laughter, smiles, an outdoor ceremony by the Roanoke Sound, dinner courtesy of Mulligan’s Beach Catering, music and entertainment by Outer Banks Music Masters Matt Cooper. There was a fantastic, crowd pleasing photo booth brought by Outer Banks Productions which the guests young and old enjoyed throughout the evening and a “for kids only” dinner station offering hamburgers, cheeseburgers and chicken fingers galore.

From our family to yours, congratulations to you, Amanda and Dwight, on a fabulous springtime wedding at Elizabethan Gardens. We hope you’ll enjoy this blog post and teaser photos while we’re processing the rest of them from this weekends festivities. We’ll be in touch shortly.

A big thank you goes to Sarah from Sarah D’Ambra Photography for helping out with this wedding. All photos shown by Blue Sky Photography – Kitty Hawk.
